(Synopsis) When CEO Renner Bastion walks into a room, everyone keeps their distance. Well, everyone but the sarcastic, tattooed, Boston-bred security guard whose presence has kept Renner in New Jersey longer than intended. As if the unwanted attraction isn’t unsettling enough, Renner finds out his protector isn’t as unavailable as originally thought.

Milo Bautista just came out to his wealthy, ultra-confident boss, a man he secretly respects and admires…in more ways than he’ll admit. Worldly, experienced Renner would never look in his direction, let alone share some of that confidence he wears like a cloak, so Milo has set his sights on someone else to be his first.

Until Renner offers him private lessons in seduction...

When I heard that Tessa Bailey was going to FINALLY do a m/m novel, and one set in the Made in Jersey world, I was beyond excited. Tessa brings the most perfect balance of sweetness and steaminess to her books. And she uses real people in her stories too. They work real jobs, have real problems and look like real people. So I was positive that the story she had hinted at in earlier books between Renner and Milo was going to be awesome.

We already know that Renner is a troubled soul. He's broody and cranky and antisocial. He prefers the company of his sister, tolerates her husband, and avoids everyone else. Except, he does admire Milo from afar. To his face, though, Renner is just as crotchety as he is with everyone else. Milo, though, doesn't let him get away with that. Milo gets in his face and makes him talk and feel and hope for more. But, Renner comes with relationship baggage, and he's not interested in any of that. And Milo has made it clear he wants someone else. So, Renner takes what he can get and decides that's enough for him.

Except, it's not. Renner has spent so long being closed off from other people, and I think he was so tired of being alone. It took one man with enough guts to keep standing up to him every time he was a jerk to make Renner realize how empty his life was. But, even knowing this, he was still too afraid of being hurt to take any sort of a chance.

This boo was so full of EVERYTHING I love about romance books. Milo and Renner had amazing chemistry that built and built until it seemed to spill off the pages. They had this push and pull, stop and start thing going on that was wonderfully frustrating. They both had other things going on that were competing for their attention, but when their attention was focused on each other, it was explosive.

We got to see several couples from previous Made in Jersey books, and it was great catching up with them. I'm sad to see all of them go, but it's great knowing that all of them are living their happily ever after - Renner and Milo included.

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of nine years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
